Q: Why did NACE decide to postpone the NACE Central Area Conference?
A: Due to circumstances beyond NACE International and the NACE Kansas City Section’s control, arising from state and local restrictions for large gatherings where the conference was scheduled to be held, we felt it was best to postpone the conference to 2021. The NACE Central Area Conference will now take place in August 2021.
Q: Will the NACE Central Area Conference be held virtually?
A: NACE is exploring innovative new pathways to share content to the larger corrosion community which will include virtual events. As information becomes available, updates will be provided on the NACE events page.
Q: What happens to my Central Area Conference registration fees? Can I transfer my registration to the 2021 Central Area Conference?
A: To ensure that the organization can continue to serve the corrosion community, we encourage attendees, exhibitors and sponsors to defer registration to the 2021 Central Area Conference. For attendees who would prefer to request a refund, NACE International’s First Service team can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 1-800-797-6223 (U.S./Canada) or +1-281-228-6223 worldwide. Refund requests must be received by 11:59 p.m. CDT on July 10, 2020. Any remaining registrations will be transitioned to the 2021 Central Area Conference.
Q: Can I donate my registration fee to the NACE Foundation?
A: The NACE Foundation continues to be the only organization of its kind dedicated to preparing the future generation of corrosion professionals who will protect the world’s infrastructure from the effects of corrosion. The NACE Foundation invests in scholarships, training, and workforce development programs that affect the lives of students, teachers, and veterans. If you would like to support the NACE Foundation, please contact email@example.com to request that your fee be applied as a tax-deductible gift to the Foundation.
Q: If I booked my hotel through the Loew's website from the Central Area Conference website. How do I cancel my reservation?
A: If you made a hotel reservation through the conference website, you will need to contact the Loew's to cancel your reservation.
Q: Can I get a refund for my hotel reservation if I did not reserve in the official room block?
A: If you elected to book outside of the official room block, you will have to work directly with the third-party used for booking(i.e., Expedia, Priceline, Hotwire, etc.) or the hotel directly to determine if the reservation can be modified or if cancellation fees may apply.
Q: Will NACE be reimbursing flight cancellation/rebooking fees?
A: NACE is not liable for costs related to travel to Kansas City, MO. Please contact your specific airline carrier to inquire about their change/cancellation policy.
Q: Will exhibit booth or sponsorship fees be refunded?
A: To ensure that NACE can continue to serve the corrosion community, exhibitors and sponsors are encouraged to defer their registration the 2021 Central Area Conference or transfer your funds to a different event. Please note we are not able to transfer funds to any other NACE products (e.g., Education Course, books, standards, etc.).
For exhibitors that would prefer to request a refund, please contact David Briley and for sponsors please contact Rosalind Hoang by 11:59 p.m. CDT on July 10, 2020. After that date, any remaining exhibitors and sponsors will automatically be transferred to the 2021 Central Area Conference. NACE will begin processing refunds in August. Completing these requests will take time; your patience as we work through this task is greatly appreciated.
